Gabon CSR Activities
- We work to enhance the social benefits from our operations, placing an emphasis on hiring qualified local workers and supporting a variety of community investments.
- Starting in 2019, under PID/PIH funds, VAALCO and its partners sponsor the SOLAR LIGHTS project in Gabon, to install 2300 Solar lights in rural areas.
- Support the Nissi House, a non-governmental charity organization that fights against child trafficking and underage labor. VAALCO’s support goes beyond the provision of needed supplies as our local employees invest their time and efforts to repair and maintain the building when needed, creating a sense of pride and generating a high morale and values environment that we are all proud of.
VAALCO Gabon is committed to excellence in the areas of health, safety, and environment (HSE). Meeting this commitment is a responsibility shared by everyone, including contractors and third parties, and is a prerequisite of VAALCO Gabon.
Space for Giants: VAALCO is partnering with Space for Giants NGO to protect Africa’s natural ecosystems and the large wild animals they contain, while bringing major social and economic value to local communities and national governments

During this initial event, VAALCO employees, families and friends collected a total of 275 kg (616lb) of litter from the shoreline and nearby roads. Subsequent cleanups have collected a total of over 1000 kg (2,200 lbs) of litter
Labor Day: VAALCO Employees participate in Labor Day parade to honor the local labor movement.
